Planting a Seed for Future Generations
For 118 years and counting, Oak Grove has been providing faith based, Christian education to the Fargo-Moorhead area. As the years go by, Oak Grove continues to grow. As a result, it’s time for some updates on both of our campuses. Oak Grove is so excited for all the positive changes coming with the Acorns to Oaks Campaign. These include:
- Building new spaces that encourage meaningful interaction among students and teachers.
- Updating existing spaces to incorporate new educational technology, with extra focus on STEM.
- Preparing for the future by providing room for Oak Grove to grow!
- Ensuring facility security meets 21st-century needs.
Your support makes our growth possible!
What Changes are Coming?
Benson Hall Renovations
Oak Grove will provide updates to the North Campus's Benson Hall.
Additional classrooms will be available, and administrative offices will be renovated.
These updates will transform Benson into a space that our students and parents should expect with new windows, a new roof, asbestos abatement and mechanical upgrades.
New STEM Center and Commons Areas
Located in the former footprint of the Eid Center, Oak Grove's new STEM Center will be a two-story facility featuring modern classrooms and laboratories designed to stimulate students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
The ground floor will include administrative offices, a main entry for visitors, cafeteria, teacher's lounge and accessible connector between Jackson and Benson. This means that all of the buildings on the North Campus will be connected to each other!
The second floor also will feature small-group rooms and huddles that encourage collaborative learning and team projects.
New Elementary School Gym
Changes are also coming to Oak Grove's South Campus, home of the Elementary School and Early Learning Center! A new gymnasium, extending south from the current space, will give teachers flexibility with class schedules and activities.
The current gymnasium also serves as the lunchroom, chapel and assembly space. It is used for recess during times of inclement weather.
Additional Elementary School Spaces
The gym isn't the only change. A new music room and updated playground will also be coming to the elementary school. These additions provide more space for students to learn and play, while emphasizing accessibility for all students. Eventually, a new, central main entrance will be added.
